PlantCare is developed and provided by elza.vie.
This Privacy Policy explains how PlantCare handles information when you use the application.
1. Overview
PlantCare is a plant care reminder application that helps users manage plants, watering schedules, watering history, and reminder notifications.
PlantCare does not require users to create an account or sign in.
Plant information entered into the app, including plant names, watering schedules, watering history, reminder settings, and copies of selected plant photos, is stored locally within the app on the user's device.
If Android backup is enabled, this information may also be included in a cloud backup associated with the user's Google Account or transferred to another Android device through Android's device transfer features.
PlantCare does not operate its own server for storing or synchronizing this plant information.
2. Information You Provide
When using PlantCare, you may choose to provide information such as:
- Plant names or nicknames
- Plant photos selected from your device
- Watering intervals
- Last watering dates
- Watering history
- Reminder settings
This information is used only to provide the plant management and reminder features of the app.
PlantCare does not transmit this information to the developer's own servers. However, as described in Section 7, locally stored information may be handled by Android's backup or device transfer services if those features are enabled or used.
3. Photos and Media
PlantCare allows you to select photos from your device to associate with your plants.
The app accesses a photo only when you choose to select it for use within PlantCare. A copy of the selected photo is stored in PlantCare's internal app storage.
PlantCare does not upload your plant photos to the developer's servers. However, copies stored within the app may be included in Android cloud backups or device transfers as described in Section 7.
The original photo in your device's photo library remains under your control. PlantCare does not modify or delete the original photo merely because it is selected for use within the app.
4. Notifications
PlantCare may request permission to send notifications.
Notifications are used to remind you about scheduled plant watering.
You may disable or change notification permissions at any time through your Android device settings.
Reminder times and plant watering schedules are used to provide these notification features.
Device-specific notification delivery state is excluded from PlantCare's configured Android backup and device transfer data.
5. Advertising and Third-Party Services
PlantCare uses Google AdMob, provided through the Google Mobile Ads SDK, to display advertisements.
The Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect or process certain information, including:
- IP address, which may be used to estimate general location
- App interactions, such as app launches, taps, or ad interactions
- Diagnostic and performance information
- Device identifiers, including advertising identifiers where available
This information may be used by Google for purposes including advertising, ad measurement, analytics, security, and fraud prevention.
The information collected and processed by Google is governed by Google's Privacy Policy, applicable Google terms, and the privacy settings available to the user.
The specific information processed may vary depending on your device, region, privacy choices, consent settings, and Google Mobile Ads SDK configuration.
PlantCare does not receive your personally identifying information from Google merely because advertisements are displayed in the app.
7. Data Storage, Backup, and Retention
PlantCare's plant management information is stored locally within the app on your device. This includes copies of plant photos selected for use in PlantCare.
PlantCare participates in Android's backup system because Android backup is enabled for the app. Under PlantCare's current backup rules, plant data and photos stored in the app's internal plant_photos directory are eligible for:
- Cloud backup associated with the user's Google Account
- Restoration when PlantCare is reinstalled
- Transfer to another Android device through supported device transfer features
The app excludes its device-specific notification delivery state from both cloud backup and device transfer.
Whether a backup or transfer actually occurs depends on factors including your device settings, Google Account settings, Android version, device manufacturer, available storage or backup quota, network conditions, and the availability of the applicable backup or transfer service.
Android Auto Backup is subject to a per-app backup limit. As a result, some or all data may not be backed up if the applicable limit is exceeded.
Backup data handled by Google is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Google's applicable backup practices. PlantCare's developer does not operate or directly access the Google Account backup storage used by Android.
Locally stored information remains on your device until you edit or delete it, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app. A previously created backup may remain separately under the applicable backup provider's retention and deletion practices until it is updated, replaced, expires, or is deleted through the controls provided by that service.
Information processed independently by Google through advertising services may be retained according to Google's own policies.
8. Data Deletion
You can remove plant records and related information using features provided within the app where available.
You may delete PlantCare's locally stored data through Android application settings or by uninstalling the app.
Clearing the app's data or uninstalling PlantCare removes the app's local data from that device, but it may not immediately remove data previously included in an Android cloud backup. Backup deletion and retention are controlled through the applicable Android, Google Account, or device backup settings.
Deleting PlantCare or its internal copy of a selected photo does not delete the original photo stored separately in your device's photo library.
For information processed by Google advertising services, available deletion and privacy controls are governed by Google and your Android or Google Account settings.
9. Data Security
PlantCare is designed to minimize the amount of information transmitted outside your device.
Plant management information is stored locally within the app, but it may be transmitted through Android's cloud backup or device transfer services as described in this policy.
Google states that Android backup data is protected using the safeguards applicable to its backup services. Google also states that data collected by the Google Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit.
No method of electronic storage, backup, transfer, or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
10. Children's Privacy
PlantCare is intended for users aged 18 years and older.
The app is not directed toward children under 18, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children through a developer-operated account or server system.

11. International Use
Third-party services used by PlantCare, including Google AdMob and Android backup services, may process information in countries other than the country in which you live.
Such processing is governed by the privacy practices and safeguards of the relevant third-party service provider.
12. Your Choices
You can control certain privacy-related features through your device, app, and Google Account settings, including:
- Notification permissions
- Android backup settings
- Advertising privacy settings provided by Android or Google
- Advertising identifiers
- Plant information stored within PlantCare
- Photos selected for use with the app
Disabling Android backup can prevent future PlantCare cloud backups, subject to the backup behavior and controls provided by your device, Android version, device manufacturer, and backup provider.
You may stop all future use of PlantCare by uninstalling the application.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when PlantCare's features, data practices, backup configuration, third-party services, or legal requirements change.
When this policy is updated, the Last updated date at the top of this page will be revised.
Users are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
